Scores and Feedback
Grading: Your grade in this class will be based on several different factors and assignments. This will include class projects, reading checks, and both short and extended writing assignments.
Grading Policies: Reading Comprehension grades will include tests and quizzes on the content that we have read in class or for homework. Writing Skills will be assessed in writing assignments such as short constructed responses, extended constructed responses and research papers. Class Projects will be assessed in presentations. Projects will be graded as per the guidelines given for the specific assignment. The Student Responsibility grade includes all daily assignments such as in-class activities, overnight homework assignments, and small in-class activities. This grade also includes elements such as attendance, punctuality, participation and preparedness from the student. Student Responsibility grades cannot be re-done or turned in late. Any project or large assignment may be accepted late up to a date that will be specified in class. Students must discuss turning in late work with me prior to handing it in. Larger assignments and projects will be graded in the Reading Comprehension, Writing Skills and Class Projects sections. Formal evaluations will receive several grades including Content and Student Responsibility. These formal evaluations will be accepted late at a penalty to the student in their Student Responsibility grade, as this promotes mastery learning for the student.
